This page contains the Notices of Executive Key Decisions.  A full definition of a key decision is contained in the Council’s Constitution, but in summary it is a decision made by the Executive which meets one of the following conditions:
 
A Key Decision is an Executive decision which is likely –
 
(a) to result in the relevant local authority incurring expenditure which is, or the making of savings which are, significant* having regard to the local authority’s budget for the service or function to which the decision relates;
(b) to be significant in terms of its effects on communities living or working in an area comprising two or more wards or electoral divisions in the area of the relevant local authority.
 
*significant expenditure or savings to the authority in excess of £70,000
 
Key decisions are taken by the City Council’s Executive and these are usually open to the public. Agendas and
reports and any other documents relevant to the decision which may be submitted can be viewed in the
Customer Contact Centre at the Civic Centre, Carlisle or on the City Council’s website
www.carlisle.gov.uk). Agendas and reports are published one week ahead of the meeting.
