To renew the contract for HR and Payroll software, iTrent, through our existing partner, Insight, for a duration of 3 years. The purchase is on a like for like basis plus the addition of iTrent Shield to provide essential additional security through multi-factor authentication.
Keeping the existing HR and Payroll software is the best option in terms of both costs and minimising disruption in the context of the pending Local Government Reorganisation.
The cost of providing multi factor authentication is significantly less than the risk posed by not having this level of security including risk of data breach or sustained cyber-attack.
To move to another supplier – reason this option was discounted is; increased costs in terms of implementation, migration and training. The overall costs associated with migrating to a new product are less than the increase in cost of the existing product.
To not have a HR and Payroll system – reason this option was discounted is: increased costs in both process implementation and officer resources to manage both the payroll function and HR related administration through manual processes.
To not have multi-factor authorisation enabled – reason this option was discounted is: the cost of providing multi factor authentication is significantly less than the risk posed by not having this level of security including risk of data breach or sustained cyber-attack.
