A sum of £50,000 was ring fenced in the Economic Recovery Reserve to support economic recovery for local parishes and urban communities as match funding to aid recovery following the COVID pandemic. The establishment of the reserve was approved at a meeting of full Council on 20th July 2021.
Management of the Reserve rests with the Corporate Director of Economic Development, which will allow the Restarting Communities Grant to be accessed by parish councils and urban communities within Carlisle district.
The City Council received a total of 26 applications for this fund of which were all considered against the eligibility criteria and application process agreed at the 5th July meeting of the Executive. 24 were approved.
